By Our Staff Reporter Bhopal, Dec 1: The State government today approved a new strategy to promote the plantation and processing of medicinal and aromatic plants in the state. A Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, took the decision aiming at boosting cultivation of medicinal plants and to augment employment scopes based on them. The strategy sought to ensure protection and conservation of medicinal and aromatic plants in protected forest areas and extension of cultivation of medicinal plants, an official release said. The Cabinet also decided to grant permanent relaxation to fill up the vacancies in Medical colleges of the state. Following this decision, the vacancies would be filled up. The Cabinet decided to set up district treasuries in Singrauli and Alirajpur districts, which have at present sub-treasuries. It also decided to continue the existing 33 posts in the office of Police Commissioner and decided to fill up all the vacant posts of Assistant Grade-One in Cooperative Department by promotion. Land to be allotted for the office of Central Excise and Customs Duty Department and to Essar Power MP Limited for setting up of 2000 MW Mahan Super Thermal Power Project.
