Bhopal Posted On Monday, November 16, 2009 | By Our Staff Reporter Bhopal, Nov 16: In order to encourage education of destitute girls the State Bank of India has started Girl Adoption Scheme. For the all-round development of these girls the SBI and the Women Club of the bank have been organising programmes from time to time. In this connection the bank today organised a tour of the city of 125 adopted girls. Chief General Manager of the Bank, M Bhagwant Rao flagged off two buses from the Local Head Office premises of the bank today. Rao told the girls that when a girl is educated future generation is also educated. Hence he told them to take advantage of the facilities given by the bank and study well. Studying in 15 schools these girls were taken in the city on luxury buses of MP Tourism Development Corporation. On this occasion SBI Women Club President Ms Bhanumati Rao, Vice Presidewnt Ms Hema Jambunathan and Secretary Ms Manisha Tambe and several members of the club accompanied the girls in the 'Bhopal Darshan Tour.'
