Bhopal, Nov 9:
The post of Mayor has been reserved for women in big towns of the State like Gwalior, Dewas, Khandwa, Sagar, Katni and Burhanpur including State capital. At Jabalpur and Rewa Mayors will belong to other backward classes.
Process of reservation for the post of Mayors after civic body polls held for municipal corporations, Nagar Palika and Nagar Panchayat was completed on Monday in State capital. In the presence of officers at the helm of affairs in Urban Administration and Development Department at first reservation was done for the post of Mayors for 14 municipal corporations. Following this post of president for Nagar Palika and Nagar Panchayat belonging to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and backward classes were reserved. On this occasion principal secretary of the Department Raghav Chandra, commissioner Urban Administration SN Mishra and other officers of the Department were present.
