New Delhi, Nov 6:
The political deadlock continues in Karnataka as the rebel Reddy brothers on Friday categorically rejected a compromise formula put forward by the BJP central leadership aimed at ending the leadership crisis.
According to reports, Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy and Revenue Minister Karunakara Reddy are adamant on their demand for a change in the leadership.
Speaking to reporters in the national capital, Janardhana Reddy said, "The crisis will be resolved within two-to three days. All top BJP leaders including Venkaiah Naidu, Anant Kumar and Shushma Swaraj will soon take a right decision in the interest of BJP MLAs and in the best interest of the people of Karnataka."
Janardhana Reddy maintained that his campaign was aimed at betterment of the state, the party and its workers.
However, he refused to meet and discuss the present crisis with the Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa at any cost.
Today's development has shattered BJP's central leadership's hope to resolve the crisis amicably as it had planned a joint press meet of Yeddyurappa and Reddy brothers announcing the end of the political deadlock.
Earlier, Yeddyurappa had hinted at a compromise formula under which he may have to axe some ministers and transfer some officials to end the crisis in the BJP government in the state.
"Any important issue...whatever our all India leaders direct me, I am bound to do it. I have already agreed," he told reporters during his morning walk.
He also transferred his Principal Secretary V P Baligar, whose removal was one of the prime demands of the dissident camp.
Baligar has been posted as Principal Secretary, Industries department and I S N Prasad has replaced him as Secretary to the Chief Minister.
He was asked whether he is ready to sacrifice ministers and transfer bureaucrats as demanded by the Reddy brothers, who are heading the dissidents in the state.
Yeddyurappa also ruled out leadership change.
