Bhopal, Oct 26:
In order to provide fresh cooked food under Midday Meal Scheme run by Rural Development Department the Women and Child Development Department will be launching Sanjha Chulha Yojana on November 1, said Minister of State for Women and Child Development Ranjana Baghel here today.
Ms Baghel informed that freshly cooked food prepared in schools' kitchen sheds by local self-help groups is served under Midday Meal Scheme. Now these groups will provide nutritious food to children ranging from 3 to 6 years of age under Integrated Child Development Scheme. Nutritious food will also be provided to Anganwadi children ranging from six months to 3 years, 3 to 6 years, pregnant women and nursing mothers on Mangal Diwas. Instructions have been given in this connection to all the divisional commissioners, collectors, chief executive officers of Zila Panchayats, divisional joint directors of Women and Child Development Department and district programme officers/district women and child development officers.
Ms Baghel informed that the menu for breakfast and lunch under Sanjha Chulha has been prepared after consultation between Panchayat and Rural Development Department. She said that the responsibility of food distribution under Sanjha Chulha Yojana will rest with Anganwadi workers. The Anganwadi workers will collect food from the kitchen of the self-help group. A banner will be pasted on the vehicle carrying Midday Meal food to Anganwadi centres. The group will provide a certificate to Anganwadi workers about the quantity and quality of food. If need be, district collector will have samples of food grains checked while various committees will keep checking the quality of cooked food from time to time.
