Madhya Pradesh Posted On Tuesday, October 13, 2009 | Chronicle News Service Damoh, Oct 13: Two Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) employees were arrested today for issuing SIM cards on fake documents, police said. The users of the SIM cards talked over three months to foreign countries which costs about Rs 8.5 lakhs. A police team rushed to Uttar Pradesh to arrest four other accused. Police was interrogating the arrested persons -- Mohammad Hussain and Kailash Shukla -- who recently issued five SIM cards and sold to Uttar Pradesh residents Ramzan, Nadeem, Mirzasanu and Dashrath Prajapati, the sources said. After investigation, it was revealed that the users of the SIM cards talked to Saudi Arabia, Romania, Japan, Australia, South Africa and some other countries for three months from June onwards. Police team was also trying to locate the persons to whom they talked. The two arrested persons admitted that they sold each SIM card at a cost of Rs 24,000 to the UP residents. More information would be revealed after the arrest of the other accused, police said. Keeping in mind the seriousness of the case, police also announced Rs 5,000 on the arrest of the four other accused. Police were also investigating about involvement of anti-national elements in the SIM card episode. Meanwhile, the BSNL sources said that a departmental inquiry was ordered into the case and suspension or expulsion order against the employees might be issued after receiving the probe report.
