Bhopal, Aug 26:
DIG Ashok Awasthi and SP Jaideep Prasad toured the Walled City today to study the deteriorating traffic problems there. Both the officers reached Sindhi Colony Junction and instructed the traffic policemen to improve traffic system.
During the public hearing held on last Tuesday residents of this area had complained to DGP SK Raut that traffic system there has broke down. Since morning till late night the area has a big traffic movement. Traffic jams and minor incidents have become common there. But the police have utterly failed to control traffic there. The residents had complained to the higher authorities several times but there was no improvement.
Police sources said the DGP has directed the DIG and SP to inspect the traffic system at Sindhi Colony Junction. Hence both the police officers along with additionals SP Ruchi Shrivastava and Santosh Singh Gaur accompanied by other senior officers reached the place for an on the spot study of the problem.
Jaideep Prasad informed that electric traffic signal system would be installed here very soon. The mini buses would not be allowed to park  near the junction. Encroachment of the area would be removed in consultation with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation authorities.
Later the police officers visited the place where two bike-borne looters had looted a bag containing Rs 80000 from a person last night after throwing chilly power in his eyes.
