State houses 520 arms dealers' shops

If you want peace prepare for war, is an old adage which appears to be applicable for Madhya Pradesh (MP) which has a reputation of being a peaceful State but the truth is contrary to this, there are 520 arms dealers' shops in the State. Thus getting armed acts as a deterrent to attack, which the citizens of MP are doing. Maximum arms shops are in Bhind whose number is 102. However, there are only 19 arms shops in State capital.
There are 10 such districts where there is no arms shop. While in 7 districts there is only one arms shop. Besides these shops there are 39 arms dealers who are waiting for permission of arms shop.

Gwalior-Chambal region has maximum shops:
Bhind is the most volatile, armed and explosive region of the State. Hence there are maximum number of arms shop in this division. There is an adage famous for this area that food is not as important as gun. This is the primary reason that out of total number of gun shops in the country nearly half are in this region. Maximum arms shops are in Bhind whose number is 102. After Bhind next district with maximum arms shops is Gwalior with 54 shops, then next district is Shivpuri with 28 shops, then next is Morena with 22 shops, then is Datiya with 14 shops, then next districts are Guna, Sheopur with seven shops each and next is Ashoknagar with 4 shops.

One shop each in 7 districts:
There are seven districts in State where there is one gun shop each. These districts are Dhar, Khandwa, Shajapur, Tikamgarh, Sehore, Chindwara and Seoni.
Out of 50 districts of State there are 10 such districts which do not have a single gun shop. These districts are Khargone, Badwani, Alirajpur, Burhanpur, Sidhi, Singaurali, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindori.
39 arms dealers are waiting for the permission of opening gun shop. The number of these districts is 14 where 39 arms dealers are awaiting the approval of opening gun shop. At present issue is pending with the government. Bhind which houses maximum number of shops is the place from which there are maximum applications for permission of opening gun shop whose number is 11.
