Bhopal, July 20:
Congress member Ramniwas Rawat today staged a walk out from the Assembly after being unsatisfied over Minister of State for Revenue's reply on uplift of 78,000 hectare sprawling Chambal ravines during a call attention notice.
Rawat and Dr Govind Singh raised this issue and said that agriculture land in Sheopur, Morena and Bhind became barren and turned into ravines. However, several farmers have been cultivating the land but the state government has allotted the land to some big companies in the name of 'land reform'.
Though these companies did not intend to reform the land but to take crores of rupees after mortgaging it in bank.
Denying the fact that the farmers were cultivating the land Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma refused that the companies would take loans on the land and would disappear later.
On the Deputy Speaker Harvansh Singh's interference, the Minister assured the Opposition members that it would be mulled whether the land would be given to the companies on lease after land reform process.
Verma said that companies did not have any right to get any loan by mortgaging the land. Reacting on this, Rawat said that he was not contended with the government's reply and staged walk out.
