Vidya Balan, who wowed viewers with her sizzling performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’, turned 35 on Tuesday.
B-town’s newly-married couple Vidya Balan and hubby Siddharth Roy Kapur has reportedly cut short their honeymoon in the Caribbean and returned to Mumbai to celebrate the actress’s birthday with their family, media reports said.
According to media buzz, Balan wanted to celebrate her special day and New Year with her family and in-laws.
Vidya and UTV head Siddharth tied the knot on December 14, in South Indian and Punjabi style. The wedding was a low-key affair.
The actress, who marked her presence at the very onset of her career with ‘Parineeta’, has bagged one National award, four Filmfare awards and four Screen awards.
The actress has been acclaimed for her acting skills as well as the capacity to break stereotypes, which she has proven time and again in films such as ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Paa’, ‘Ishqiya’, ‘No One Killed Jessica’, ‘The Dirty Picture’, and ‘Kahaani’.
Balan is also a social activist and supports the cause of empowerment of women that eventually gets portrayed on-screen, where she has managed to carve a niche in a territory dominated by male actors.
At present, Balan, has two films lined up – ‘Ghanchakkar’ and ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’.
