The Hague Tribunal generally known as World Court has ruled that the China has no historic right over the waters of the South China sea and held it guilty of breaching the sovereign rights of the neighbouring nation Philippines on the Spratly Islands.

The word ‘China’ in the name of North China sea and South China sea are geographical names and not related as territorial property of the China. India hopes that all parties involved in South China Sea will abide by the Hague Declaration and guidelines on its implementations. More than half of world sea trade routes pass through the Pacific Ocean and seas within its vest span of oceanic spreadout.

All countries in the Pacific region need to recognize that the shared property and growth should not be put at the risk by the aggressive behaviour and actions by the China. Indian Defence Minister Mr.Manohar Parrikar and US Secretary of Defence Mr.Ashton Carter have asserted the safe guarding the maritime security in the South China and entire Pacific regions.
