Staff Reporter, Bhopal Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Rani Avanti Bai’s sacrifice will continue to inspire people of the country patriotism and altruism.
He said that Rani Avanti Bai attained martyrdom on March 20, 1858 fighting the Britihsers bravely to safeguard country’s independence and self-respect. Shri Chouhan was addressing a function held at village Balpur in Dindori district to mark martyrdom day of Rani Avanti Bai today. Member of Parliament Shri Chhatrapal Singh was also present on the occasion.
Shri Chouhan said that a festival will be held every year on the martyrdom place of Rani Avandi Bai and the place will be developed. The Chief Minister said that efforts are being made by the State Government to document unforgettable contribution of all freedom fighters of freedom movement’s history. The Chief Minister said that the State is making rapid progress. State’s agriculture growth rate is above 18 percent. All villages will start receiving power for 24-hours from May. The Chief Minister said that apart from light, the 24-hour power supply will also expand network of self-employment in villages through small and cottage industry.
He said that the State Government has paid special attention to making agriculture profitable, ensuring farmers’ all-round development, infrastructure development, providing opportunities to the poor and assisting youths to set up their own industries and business.
Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana will be implemented from April 1, 2013 under which loans upto Rs. 25 lakh will be provided for self-employment whose guarantee will be given by the State Government. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that a fully-equipped Mangal Bhawan will be constructed in Balpur and Shaheed Sthal will be developed. He said that an environmental forest will be developed at Shaheed Sthal, which will be named after Rani Avanti Bai. Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah, Minister of State for Panchayat & Rural Development Shri Dev Singh Saiyyam, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Phaggan Singh Kulaste, MLAs and several other public representatives were present on the occasion.
