Firebrand BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti has again warned that she would set on fire the first Walmart store that opens in the country.

“I will set afire the store and go to jail,’’ she said.
In 2007, Bharti, who was then heading the Bharatiya Janshakti Party, had forced a Reliance Fresh store in Indore to shut down, claiming that she would have set it on fire if it had been a Walmart outlet.
The BJP leader said the UPA’s move to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) will boost the sagging international image of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

“Manmohan should have quit, if he was so much worried about his image,” she said.
The UPA government has committed a sin by allowing the FDI in retail and others sectors, she added.
She said that parties like Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s SP and Mayawati’s BSP which have been supporting the UPA government came to power on votes of the poor people. “If they are really concerned with the price rise and FDI issue, they should walk out of the alliance,” she underlined.
