Transform District Hospitals into Ideal Hospitals

MP Ahead in Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign in Country

Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country where all pathological investigations with dialysis facilities are available free of cost in all government district hospitals.

Similarly, the state is on the top in providing medical services to pregnant women in second and third trimester under Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign.

This information was given in the review meeting of Health and Medical Education Departments, which was chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mantralaya here today.

The Chief Minister reviewed the major schemes in detail. He instructed to make all possible efforts to develop all district hospitals as an ideal hospital. It was informed in the meeting that special steps have been taken for the operation, management and maintenance of 41000 medical equipments available in all districts.

Arrangements have been made to register the complaints about equipment so that they can be repaired immediately. Palliative care center is being started at Ujjain District Hospital as part of Free Cancer Chemotherapy scheme. Nineteen districts have been chosen for CT scan facility.

CT Scan facility will be made available till January 26, 2018. The camps will be organized in all the districts from January 7 to February 11, 2018, under the Chief Minister Health Camp Scheme for the health check-up of people and treatment of critical diseases by specialists.

Health check up of more than 50, 000 people were carried out in the camps organized from January 15 to 27, 2017 and patients with severe diseases were provided free surgery. More than 9 lakh pregnant women were provided health check-up facility under Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign.

Women health check-up camps will be organized in February-March 2018. This year, health check-up of over 20 lakh women were made. The target has been set for immunization of 2, 34000 children of 13 districts under intensive mission, Rainbow.

List of children is being prepared. It was also informed that outbreak of seasonal diseases was curbed due to preventive measures at the time. Diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya have been under control and their outbreak is less than the previous year.

While reviewing the future work plans of the Medical Education Department, Chouhan gave instructions for completion of construction of new medical colleges within the time limit and to start process for recruitment of medical and para-medical staff beside arrangements of equipments in the medical colleges.

He also gave directives for preparing a feasible service terms and conditions for the doctors. It was informed in the meeting that efforts are being made to provide gynecology, anesthesia, and pediatric services in the remote areas.

Recruitment process for educational faculty in new medical colleges will begin soon. In order to attract teachers for the medical colleges, ideas for time bound promotions, medical allowance and to increase super annuation age are being mulled.
