Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, A training-cum-workshop on GPS vehicle tracking system for the EVM/VVPAT transportation in Lok Sabha Election-2019 was organized at the RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration, Bhopal.
GPS nodal and technical officers were present in the programme. A poster was released in the workshop to increase voter awareness.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Abhijit Agrawal said that the credibility of election is to be maintained in every situation. GPS will facilitate this work to a great extent. GPS is a service contract.
The GPS will be installed by the vendor and after completion of work it will be removed. GPS vehicle tracking software shows real time data.It displays the details of the movement, halts and speed of the vehicle. He said that one device will be installed per vehicle. Its control room will also be made in the districts.
Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Sanjeev Jain and selected vendor gave the information regarding GPS tracking system, expectations from the districts and computer system.
Posters carrying information about Mock Poll to be put up outside polling Booths
Posters to provide information about Mock Poll for voters and polling agents of political parties/candidates will be put up at each polling booth by the Election Commission of India for Lok Sabha Election-2019. The proceeding of the mock poll will be completed in 6 stages. The voting will begin after the mock poll. The mock poll is conducted before beginning of voting process through electronic voting machines.
Keeping in view the trustworthiness of EVMs besides VVPAT machines and to generate trust among the political parties/candidates, posters will be put up with an intention to provide information outside each polling booth during the Lok Sabha Election.
