Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the flick has become the biggest non-holiday opener of all time by earning Rs 33.75 crore net in India on its opening day.

It raced past the previous non-holiday record held by ‘Dhoom 3’ (also a YRF film).

‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ has the Bollywood’s heartthrob and among its biggest action heroes attempting to take down an army of enemies as he goes on an impossible mission to save nurses held as hostage
in war-torn Iraq.

The film opened to outstanding reviews from audiences and fans.
Trade experts say that the business is expected to exponentially grow over the huge Christmas holiday weekend.

The new opened to a massive 5,700 screens worldwide, with India Screen Count being a mammoth 4,600.

Commenting on the spectacular opening of the film, Zafar said,”It is an overwhelming and a humbling moment. I thank the audiences for showering so much love on Tiger Zinda Hai.

The cast and crew and the entire YRF team have toiled their hearts out and this incredible success will be cherished by all of us. I’m delighted that the film has lived up to the expectations of the fans of India’s biggest action hero Salman Khan and that audiences are enjoying the film across the country and giving us such huge thumbs up.”

Trade experts said that though the film’s opening day earnings of Rs 33.75 crore is a little below what ‘Sultan’ had collected on its opening day (Rs 36.54 crore).

However, while ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ released on a non-holiday, ‘Sultran’ film had released on the Eid holiday (which fell on Wednesday) .
Trade sources feel that ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ could well go past Rs 100 crore in its opening weekend, considering that it has an advantage of the Christmas holiday on Monday.
