Congress president Sonia Gandhi today reiterated that an enviable package of schemes for the development of Telangana will be unveiled as soon as the UPA returns to power at the Centre.

Reiterating that the dream of a separate Telangana state came true because of relentless efforts of the Congress facing many hardships and hurdles created by some parties, she said that the Congress was now committed to ensure social justice in the region.

Appealing to the people not to trust the Telangana rashtra samithi which did not believe in keeping its word, she said that the people should carefully decide as to which party they entrust the first government of the new  state.

Ms Gandhi alleged the TRS believed only in opportunistic politics and works only for personal gain. She said the people of the region at large should get the benefits of  Telangana.

The real leaders of Telangana were the people who struggled for the creation of the new state, she said and assured the people that speedier development of Telangana was possible only through the Congress.
