Teachings of Sant Kabir are Sanjivini for society: President

The President Ramnath Kovind said that Sant Kabir had created the society free from injustice and pageantry. His teachings are like Sanjivini for the society. He was a partisan of weak people in true sense and was a social reformer bigger than the sant. Kovind was addressing the Sant Kabir Mahotsav at Lal Parade Ground here today.

The President Kovind said that Sant Kabir had strike hard on superstitions and hypocrisy. The ideals of justice, equality and brotherhood in the constitution are inspired by Kabir. He was a partisan of philanthropy.

His teachings have been mentioned in Guru Granth Sahib by Guru Nanak. The teachings of Sant Kabir are of equality and harmony. Elimination of superstitions with courage is fearlessness. Kabir had presented an example of this in his life.

He urged to donate the mortal remains by following the ideal of philanthropy. Several people can get life by donating human body parts.

Development based on Comprehensive and Sensitive Approach

President Kovind mentioned that the main objective of Sant Kabir’s life was to provide opportunity to all for progress with equality. The state government in the leadership of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is working in the direction of comprehensive development.

Development opportunities have been provided to all in Madhya Pradesh which has succeeded in economic development. The GDP of the state has increased from Rs. Onel lakh crore up to Rs. 5 lakh crore.

This development is based on comprehensive and sensitive approach. The scheme like Ladli Laxmi Yojana has been made on this approach only. Madhya Pradesh has progressed remarkably in the agriculture and rural development sector.

Schemes are being implemented in the state focusing development of tail end’s person. Sant Kabir had deep dies with Madhya Pradesh. He had spent long time in Bandhavgarh of the state. This place has Kabir Gufa Teerth Sthal. Every part of Madhya Pradesh has its own saga full of pride.

Madhya Pradesh has Boddha Stupas in Sanchi and temple of the first Jain Teerthkar Rishabhdev at Amarkantak. Ujjain and Omkareshwar have Jyotirlings. Simhastha Kumbh of Ujjain is famous.

Madhya Pradesh is the birth place of countless great personalities like Sangeet Samrat Tansen, Former President Dr. Shankardayal Sharma, Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee , Nanaji Deshmukh, Renowned Playback Singer Lata Mangeshwar and Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Kabir was Courageous Sant

The Governor O.P. Kohli said that India is a religious based nation where Sadhus and Sants are respected. Kabir was a fearless Sant, who had displayed truth based on the experiences beyond the bookish knowledge. He opposed superstitions gravely and laid emphasis on observations.

His teachings are welfare oriented and for fortifying the life experiences. Sant Kabir was a Lok Kavi who has spread awareness among the people. He was a saint who had ideology for progress breaking the barriers of orthodox traditions. Sant Kabir worked to spread the sense of equality in the society.

Message of Social Harmony

The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated that the philosophy of Sant Kabir is still relevant. His philosophy could change the entire life. Moreover, his philosophy is capable to establish eternal peace in world which is engrossed in the materialistic fire.

Sant Kabir has given a message of equality and social harmony. He gave importance to love and knowledge over caste and community. He opposed superstitions and orthodox traditions.

While narrating the dohas and Saakhiyaana (couplets) of Sant Kabir, Chouhan said that “Bhagwan Usi Tarah Har Ghat Mein Rahtein Hain Jis Tarah Mehndi Ke Patton Mein Lal Rang Chhipa Rahta Hai” .

If there is a Lord, it is in the house of poor. Service to the poor is like worshipping Bhagwan and accordingly the Madhya Pradesh Government is working for the welfare of the poor. Chouhan further said that concrete arrangements have been made for Roti, Kapda and Makaan beside children’s education and medicines for the poor.

Madhya Pradesh is the only state, where the law has been enacted to provide land to each landless poor. He mentioned that pucca houses will be provided to all the poor within 4 years.

Wheat and rice at the rate of Re. One per k.g. are being provided to all the poor including scheduled castes and scheduled tribe. Any student should not be deprived of education due to lack of funds, therefore Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Vidhyarthi Yojana has been implemented in the state.

Room rent is being provided to the students pursuing studies in the cities and also scholarship for studies abroad is being provided.

Assisatnce to 1,50,000 Youths every year for Self-Employment

CM Chouhan said that the network of Gyanoday, Shramoday, Eklavya Schools will be spread. Loan-subsidy assistance to one lakh 50 thousand youth of scheduled caste and tribe community wil be provided every year for employment and interest subsidy of 5 percent up to 5 years will be provided.

Assistance will be given to one lakh youths for self-employment. Skill development training will be imparted to 3 lakh youths within 3 years. Kabir Srajan Peeth will be established in 2 universities for research on Kabir’s philosophy. Assistance will be provided to Kabir Bhajan mandlis for ektara musical instrument.

Kabir squares and maths situated in the state will be renovated. Kabir Mahakumbh will be organized every year and assistance will be provided to the voluntary organizations which are spreading the philosophy of Kabir.

Moreover, the birth place of Kabir will be included in the Mukhya Mantri Teerth-Darshan Yojana, he added. Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Lal Singh Arya outlined the programme.

He said that the state government has worked for disseminating message for social harmony in the state. Several schemes have been framed for welfare of poor, exploited and victims here.

Saint Asangnath Ji said that Kabir had said that if you make your mind ‘Nirmal’, then God will find you. Every grief will go away, if we think properly. One, who unites others, wins. He said that arrangements made during Simhastha congregation were appreciated across the country.

In the program, President Kovind awarded Revaprasad Dwivedi (Varanasi), Sushri Pratibha Satpathi (Bhubaneswar) and K Shiva Reddy (Hyderabad). They were given Rs three lakh and citation.

The president released ‘Madhya Pradesh Main Kabir’ book. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presented an art work based on Gond painting to President Ramnath Kovind.

Chief Minister’s wife Smt Sadhna Singh presented famous Chanderi Sari to the first woman Smt Savita Kovind. Famous singer Prahlad Tipania and companions presented Kabir bhajans.

Former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Gopal Bhargava, Member of Parliament and BJP State President, Nandkumar Singh Chouhan, Minister of State for Culture Surendra Patwa, Minister of State for cooperatives Vishwas Sarang, MPs, Satyanarayana Jatia and Chintaman Malviya, Narayan Keshri, saints and followers of Kabir sect were present in the programme.

Governor hosts dinner in honour of President 

Reporter, Bhopal Governor Om Prakash Kohli hosted a dinner at Raj Bhavan today in honour of the President Ramnath Kovind. On this occasion, the President’s wife Smt Savita Kovind, family members of the president and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife were present.

Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Sitasaran Sharma, Minister of State for Scheduled Tribes Welfare, Lalsingh Arya, Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang, Member of Parliament Alok Sanjar, Lokayukta Justice NK Gupta, Mayor Alok Sharma, Chief Information Commissioner KD Khan, Chairman of Human Rights Commission Manohar Mamtani, Chief Secretary Shir BP Singh, Director General of Police Rishi Kumar Shukla and senior officers of Police and Administration were present.
