St Petersburg, Sweden entered into the quarter finals on Tuesday as they won by 1-0 against Switzerland in their World Cup round of 16 match.
Sweden’s Emil Forsberg struck the first goal for his team and also took a lead by 1-0 in the 66th minute of the game.Sweden and Switzerland were ended at 0-0 at halftime.Before half time, Sweden had some chances of hitting a goal, but failed to hit the net.
Sweden attempted 12 shots of which three were on target, while Switzerland hit three shots out of Sixteen on target.Sweden, will face either England or Colombia in the last eight.
This was the 29th meeting, but the first ever at a major tournament, it was also the 50th game at the world Cup, becoming the 11th team to reach that tally.Sweden have never won back to back world cup matches outside of their country.
