Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will launch a web portal comprising a huge compilation of pictures, videos, articles, poems and books on and by party stalwart and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Ms Swaraj will launch the web portal www.ataljee.org on January 15 here.
“Just a click of mouse can take you to Shivaji Park in Mumbai or Chandni Chowk in Delhi to listen to the enthralling speech of the most popular public speaker of our times, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister known for his excellent oratorical skills,” the BJP said in a statement today.
The web portal has been designed and developed by the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) as a part of its ‘Samagra Ataljee (Entire Atal Bihari Vajpayee) project’.
BJP national president Nitin Gadkari had made an announcement about the ‘Samagra Ataljee project’ in December 2010.
“The execution of this project was initiated and entrusted to the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini. The portal that is being launched hosts a huge compilation of pictures, videos, articles, poems and books on and by Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” the statement said. The party said Mr Vajpayee will be the only other former Prime Minister besides the first Prime Minister of the country Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru to have a strong web presence of this kind.
“What makes the ‘Samagra Ataljee’ project unique is that this collation and digitisation of documents involves hundreds of thousands of pages of oral, written and visual material related to Ataljee and spanning over five decades of his memorable and inspiring political journey,” the BJP said.
The BJP said it is for the first time in the history of the party and probably India that the digitisation of all the significant works and material related to a political personality is being undertaken at such a significant scale with the objective of making it freely available through a web portal to the public at large.
