9 suspended till further orders

A complaint of ragging was lodged by a junior student with Anti-Ragging Helpline of University Grants Commission (UGC) in Sushila Devi Bansal College of Technology.
Following which nine students were suspended. Nirmal Dagdee, SD Bansal College director said,“All nine accused in the alleged ragging case have been suspended till further orders.” He also said Kishanganj police had been informed about the incident which interrogated the accused. The college authorities had informed the victim about the action taken against the accused students.
A student of SD Bansal college was allegedly ragged by a group of 15 senior students and their friends last Saturday. The victim had filed a complaint with the UGC Helpline alleging that he along with his classmates was relishing snacks at an eatery in front of his college main gate when around 15 senior students, who were drunk, came to the place and started abusing them.
He stated that the seniors allowed his classmates to go but did not let him free. He alleged that they ragged and beat him up.
He mentioned names of 10 accused – Brijesh, Gulshan, Mahesh, Ghanshyam, Yash Raghuvanshi, Amit Koshal, Shubham Bairagi, Uttam Kushwah, Dashrath and Neutan – in this compliant. On receiving complaint, the Helpline had immediately swung into action and directed the college authorities to probe into matter.
The college was also directed to provide security to the victim and pacify him so that he does not feel alone. The college authorities informed the Helpline that the probe into the compliant is underway and report would be submitted on Thursday.
