Forest Minister Dr. Gaurishankar Shejwar assumed office of Chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation here today. Dr. Shejwar said that the corporation having Rs. 2500 forest wealth is earning profit regularly and making available dividend worth crores of rupees to the state government.
The corporation generates about 40 lakh mandays worth employment every year. Corporation’s Managing Director R.N. Saxena, officers and employees were present on the occasion.
Dr. Shejwar said that established with share capital of Rs. 20 crore in year 1975, the corporation’s present share capital is Rs. 40 crore. Assuring of action as per rules on demand of filling up vacancies and giving promotions in the corporation, Dr. Shejwar said that interests of employees of the profit-earning corporation will be safeguarded.
Corporation’s main activity is commercial plantation of teak and bamboo.
The corporation is increasing productivity and quality by converting low-quality forests into high-quality ones by plantation of valuable and multi-purpose species.
Soon after assumption of office, corporation’s officers, employees and representatives and employees from 11 forest divisions of the state accorded a warm welcome to Forest Minister Dr. Gaurishankar Shejwar.
Corporation’s Employees Union President Ajay Shrivastava ‘Neelu’ conducted the proceedings while Executive Director Project Formulation Atul Jain proposed a vote of thanks.
