- 5th World Ayurved Conference inaugurated

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a State AYUSH Control Programme will be implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Ayurved and naturopathy will be promoted in the state. Shri Chouhan was addressing inaugural function of the Fifth World Ayurved Conference here today. Former Union Human Resources Development Minister Shri Murli Manohar Joshi was the chief guest on the occasion. Commerce, Industries, Science & Technology Minister Shri Kailash Vijaywargiya, Public Works Minister Shri Nagendra Singh and Minister of State for Health Shri Mahendra Hardia were also present. Patients are being provided free consultation and treatment at the conference at Lal Parade Ground.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Ayurved is an ideal and simple system of medicine which eradicates root cause of disease. AYUSH Wings will be started in all government hospitals in the state. He said that Ayurved is considered the fifth Veda in our culture. Disease-free body is key to happy life. Shri Chouhan said that facility of world-level Ayurved practices will be made available in Madhya Pradesh. Every possible assistance will be extended for producing quality Ayurved medicines, research and study.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Ayurved is a system of medicine in which overall diagnosis is made and disease is completely cured. All the religions have propounded ways to keep body healthy. Ayurved and Yoga are the best ways for maintaining good health. The State Government has attached priority to health. A number of schemes have been introduced to make effective health facilities available to common people. Cultivation of medicinal plants is also being promoted in the state. He said that benefit of state’s traditional remedies should be availed. A scheme will be chalked out to implement suggestions to be put forth at this conference. He urged Ayurved doctors to take a pledge that they will treat patients only through Ayurved. As many as 697 Ayurved doctors have been appointed in the state. He said that criteria to assess development should be quantum of facilities made available to common people. Development should be made in such a way that future generations get a better world. At the function, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also administered Dhanwantri Oath.
Former Union Minister Shri Murli Manohar Joshi said that country’s trade deficit can be bridged through Swadeshi productions, Yoga and Ayurved. For this, Patent Act should be suitably amended. Shri Joshi said that effective and easy treatment facilities can be made available to the world through Ayurved. In Ayurved, there is a concept of total cure including that of body, mind, intellect and soul. He said that every student of medicine science should study Ayurved. Such amendments should be made in country’s law, which facilitate trade of Ayurvedic medicines.
Shri Joshi said that Madhya Pradesh government should establish an Ayurved University with facilities of research and studies.
Knowledge of Sanskrit is necessary to understand basic principles of Ayurved. Therefore, teaching and studies of Sanskrit should be mandatory for Ayurved studies. Large-scale changes are needed at the earliest in teaching and studies of Ayurved. He said that we should not forget the fact that we are representatives of highest Indian scientific wealth.
National Chairman of Vigyan Bharti Dr. Vijay Bhatkar also addressed the function. A collection of selected research-papers read out at the conference were also released. Mayor Smt. Krishna Gaur, Dr. P.K. Verma, Dr. V.P. Tyagi, Dr. K.I. Vasu, Dr. Devendra Tiguna, Dr. Anand Pauranik, Dr. P.M. Arya, Dr. Raghavendra Kulkarni, Dr. Luis Brar, Dr. Oliver Warner were also present on the occasion. Dr. G. Gitakrishnan welcomed the guests while Dr. Mashusudan Pandey proposed a vote of thanks.
About 3500 representatives from 40 countries are participating in the World Ayurved Conference being held jointly by Madhya Pradesh Government, Vigyan Bharti and World Ayurved Foundation.
