Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Yashodhara Scindia, the Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, MP, inaugurated the newly built hockey turf at Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Sports Complex, which cost about Rs. 7 crore. Further, she did the ribbon-cutting at the administration block.
The Minister also laid the foundation of the indoor halls in Shivpuri, Bairadh, and Kolaras costing Rs. 3.25 crores during the groundbreaking ceremony.
Addressing the inauguration function, Yashodhara Scindia said that the State Government is committed to providing all possible world-class facilities to the athletes.
She motivated the youngsters by saying that this hockey turf in Shivpuri is no less than a boon for the hockey athletes and they will get new opportunities to perform at the international-level after refining their talent through this academy.
Expressing her happiness after seeing the smiling faces of the hockey athletes present there and said that she believes that now the athletes from Shivpuri will bring more laurels to the state and the country.
After her speech, Dr. S.L. Thaosen, the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare informed the listeners about the new achievements of the department.
Pohri MLA Mr. Prahlad Bharti, Collector Mrs. Shilpa Gupta, many officials and other respected citizens too were present on this occasion.
