Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Divya Pawar, a talented boxer of Madhya Pradesh State Boxing Academy, recently won a gold medal for India by defeating the Serbian competitor in the final of the International Golden Gloves Tournament. She brought new laurels to the state with her performance at the international level.
Appreciating Divya’s remarkable performance, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare, MP Govt. congratulated Divya on this remarkable feat. She said that she and the whole state is proud of MP’s talented daughter.
In this tournament being organized by International Boxing Association (AIBA) in Serbia from 10th to 17th July 2018, Divya Pawar bagged the gold medal of 54 kg weight category while representing India.
During her winning streak, she defeated Hungary’s Kiss Betina in R.S.C. third round of quarterfinal, Russia’s Med Marlla in R.S.C. second round of the semi-final, and Serbian athlete Gurumusa Dajana in the final to secure the gold medal.
Dr. S.L. Thaosen, the Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department, also commended this excellent performance of Divya. It is noteworthy that Divya has been practicing under the guidance of MP State Boxing Academy Chief Coach Mr. Roshanlal.
