Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Audience enjoyed a pleasant evening of Kathak and classical music jugalbandi here on Sunday at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum.
Kathak dancer Aparna Chaturvedi, a disciple of Pandit Ramlal of Raigarh gharana, mesmerized the audience with her ‘Kathak dance’. She started off with ‘Shanthakaram – Bhujagashyanam Padamnabham Suresh’ which is Vishnu Vandana with her disciples.
After Vishnu Vandana, she performed ‘Amad Thaat’ in teen taal. After the ‘Aadam Thaat’, the artists presented Thumri on ‘Kache Rakt Dagar Peer Nandlal Mere’. Later, Aparna Chaturvedi presented a Pure Kathak dance with presenting thrilling ‘Tarana’ and ‘Kajree’ on Barasan Badriya Jhoom-Jhoom.
It was a spellbinding performance right from the beginning till the end. Aparna Chaturvedi received Kathak dance from Pandit Ramlal of Raigad House. Aparna Chaturvedi has also been felicitates with many awards for her dance skills. Aparna Chaturvedi has made performances of Kathak dance on various art forums in the country.
Earlier the programme, organized under ‘Uttaradhikar’ series of the museum, began with ‘Santoor-Sitar Jugalbandi’ by Sanskriti Vahane and Prakrati Vahane. The young artists kick-started their performance with Raga Yaman, followed by ‘Japa’ in ‘Jaap-Halle’. They were accompanied by Nishant Sharma on Tabla.
Sanskritit and Prakriti then presented Santoor-Sitar Jugal Bandi in the medieval Jhapa Tal. They wrapped up their performance by presenting jugalbandi in Teen Taal, Dhrut Laya.
Their jugalbandi left teh audience totally enthralled. It is to be noted that Sanskriti and Prakriti gained the primary education of music from their father’s sitar player, Lokesh Vahani. They have presented at international platforms as well.
