Agencies, New Delhi
P.ChidambramStating that the protests by flash mob was a new phenomenon, Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said that lessons were being learnt to deal with this new trend.

Answering questions regarding the handling of protests in India Gate and other sensitive areas in the capital, the Finance Minister admitted that authorities were not fully prepared to deal with flash mobs.
“We need to devise standard operating procedure SOPs.” He said the Government had set up a Commission of Inquiry to identify lapses and fix responsibility in the gangrape of a 23-year-old girl in New Delhi on December 16.

Former Delhi High Court judge Justice Usha Mehra who has been appointed to head the Commission, will also suggest measures to make Delhi and NCR safer for women, he said.
The Commission has been given three months time to submit its report.
