Solar Energy is the Energy of the Future

Rewa : Ultra Mega Solar (RUMS) project, of 750 MW capacity came to a commercial closure marking the successful completion of the first phase of development. Power Purchase Agreements were signed between the developers, MPPMCL (the holding company of MP DISCOMs), DMRC, RUMSL, NRED and Finance department of GoMP, and PGCIL. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that solar energy is the energy of the future.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said on the occasion that the government has obtained a new identity for the state. Union Minister of State for Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal said that Rewa Project has been accepted as the ideal standard of solar energy in the country. Chouhan said that the state will be the leading state in the field of solar energy. Renewable energy is the energy of the future and work is being undertaken in this sector speedily.

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Project is paving new ways for solar energy production and use. He said that road, electricity and water are basic necessities for development. Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu said the participation of six international organizations including France, Japan, Italy, Singapore in the auction of the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Project is a significant achievement.

This magical transformation is a result of the government’s commitment and honesty. International Finance Corporation representative Su Isabelle Chatterton informed that power is must for clean drinking water, education and employment. The Corporation provides assistance for its availability. She termed Rewa project as an effective effort for stable development.
