Mr Chouhan made the statement during the inauguration of women’s empowerment and protection campaign ‘Gauravi’ here.
The function was presided over by Union Health Minister Harshvardhan and noted film actor Aamir Khan was present on the occasion, an official release said.
Promising that Madhya Pradesh would lead in this direction, he urged society to support the efforts for women’s empowerment.
“Society should launch a campaign to change mindset towards women. Gauravi campaign is an important step towards this,” he noted.
Mr Chouhan said one-stop crisis resolution centres will be opened in the state under Gauravi Abhiyan.
In Madhya Pradesh, arrangements have been made to put up challan in courts after completing investigation into cases against women within 15 days. Similarly, strict sentence has also been ensured to criminals within prescribed time-limit.
The Chief Minister also elaborated on various other schemes launched by the government for women empowerment on the occasion.
Union Health Minister Harshvardhan said Madhya Pradesh has set an example before the country by launching Gauravi Abhiyan and Madhya Pradesh has launched a number of innovative schemes in health sector, which can be implemented in the country. Dr Harshvardhan said the Centre will extend all possible assistance to the state government.
