Sindhu clinches Korea Open Super Series

India’s ace badminton star P V Sindhu defeated Japanese player Nozomi Okuhara in the women’s singles final of the Korea Open in a close encounter here today.

Rio Olympic Silver medallist Sindhu, who had lost to Okuhara in an epic World Badminton Championships final three weeks back, got the better of the eighth seed beating her in today’s match 22-20, 11-21, 21-18 a game that lasted one hour and 24 minutes.

Sindhu, seeded fifth in the tournament, got her act together in the third and the final game to take the title, her second Super Series win this year after India Open. Sunday’s summit clash also turned out to be another electrifying contest as Sindhu displayed great stubbornness to lay claim to her third super series title of her career.
