CNS, Sehore Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma today helped carry the Bier of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel Omprakash Mardaniya who was martyred in a terrorist attack in Srinagar on Wednesday.
“The martyr’s native village Shahpura will be renamed after him, a memorial constructed and Rs 15 lakh provided to the family, which shall also be granted a plot in Sehore or in Bhopal, wherever it wishes.
A member will receive employment,” Mr Chouhan announced. The Lok Sabha’s Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj also laid a floral wreath and a guard of honour was conducted. More than 10,000 persons took part in the funeral procession. People from across the District participated. Ichhawar town observed a bandh as a mark of respect. The personnel’s little son Raj lit the pyre. “The martyr’s brother is also in the CRPF. He has been transferred from Vijayawada to Bhopal so that he can look after the family,” said Inspector-General Dayaram.
