Shinde creates stir, says BJP, RSS promoting Saffron terrorism

sushil kumar shindeAgencies, Jaipur Kicking up a storm Home Minister and Congress veteran Sushil Kumar Shinde today alleged that the BJP and the RSS ran training camps to promote ‘Hindu Terrorism’. Speaking during the AICC plenary, Mr Shinde cited reports supporting his claim.

He said,’after investigations we have found that BJP and RSS training camps are promoting Hindu Terrorism.’ ‘They are talking about infiltration but we have the report that be it the BJP or the RSS, their training camps are promoting Hindu terrorism,’ Mr Shinde asserted. Referring to the Samjhauta blast, Mecca Masjid blast and Malegaon blast, the Home Minister said that these right wing forces are involved in such activities and our workers need to be cautious against such hate campaign as it is important for the unity and integrity of the country. He said, ‘bombs for Samjhauta blast, Mecca Masjid blast and Malegaon blast were planted by those trained in such camps but they blamed innocent youth from minority community.’ In an informal chat later on the sidelines of the plenary, he, however, said that he has ‘talked in terms of Saffron terrorism’.

He maintained that all of this has come in the papers many a time, there is nothing new in it. Echoing his sentiment, senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said, ‘I am glad that the Home Minister has said this. He is hundred per cent right in what he has said as it is true and everybody knows it.’ Supporting the senior minister’s remarks Mr Aiyar here added that it should have been said earlier. Advocating Mr Shinde’s views AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh said, ‘I am happy that the Home Minister said this.’ He added that such activities or training camps does exist in several parts of the country. and it is a threat for the national integrity.

However, in a bid to ease down the controversy Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and party leader Rajiv Shukla said the Home Minister was focussing on right wing terrorism not Hindu terrorism as terrorists have no religion.” Law Minister Ashwini Kumar also tried to pacify the stir saying ‘we will not give colour to terrorism.’ [INBOX]
