The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday touched 36K level to 36,051.59 points for the first time on strong global cues. Asian stocks edged up after US senators struck a deal to end a three-day government shutdown, sending Wall Street’s main indexes to record highs and keeping the dollar well supported.
The Nifty of National Stocks Exchange (NSE) too advanced by 79 points to 11,045.20. The sensex registered intra day high and low at 36,060.71 and 35,863.98 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,053.05 and 10,994.55 respectively.
All the sectoral indices were in green.The indices rallied include Energy, Health Care, IT,Auto and Capital Goods stocks.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 3.12 pc to Rs 775.60, Infosys by 2.51 pc to Rs 1179.20, Dr Reddy’ Lab by 2.11 pc to rs 2544, SBIN by 1.84 pc to Rs 311.90.
The losers were Asian Paints by 1.32 pc to Rs 1161.20, Tata Motors by 0.76 pc to Rs 418.35, Wipro by 0.76 pc to Rs 318.35 and Powergrid by 0.49 pc to Rs 194.05.
