In a heart-warming incident, a group of school students rescued a newborn buried in the ground in Bhavokawari village of Sagar district.
Students, who were playing, spotted a tiny hand popping out of the ground. After removing soil, they recovered an infant which was breathing.
The boys quickly informed a woman who cooks midday meal in the school. She immediately alerted the police after which an ASHA worker (accredited social health activist) was called. She cleaned the baby and wrapped in cloth.
The baby boy was rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Sagar Medial College. Doctor Gaurav Kumar informed that there were some injuries on the tender body of the infant and his condition was critical.
Meanwhile, station house officer (SHO) of Ratnagarh, Anil Singh, said that someone has buried the baby in hurry. It was 4-5 hours old when boys spotted.A case was also registered against unknown person under section 317 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
