School kids have fun on Children’s Day

Various colourful programmes were held in schools all over the city on Children’s Day. Kids presented dances, songs, skits, fashion shows and other programmes. The day was celebrated in city schools with fun and frolic and children enjoyed a lot. Some children arrived in the school dressed as Jawaharlal Nehru.

Children’s Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. The kids celebrated Children’s Day with joy and enthusiasm at Jawahar Bal Bhavan and participated in many programmes.

Minister of State for Women and Child Development Lalita Yadav kick-started the celebrations with flying of balloons with the children. A photo exhibition was inaugurated on the occasion.

Later children presented various cultural programmes. Finally prizes were distributed. Bal Bhavan director Tripti Tripathi said Children’s Day is celebrated in the memory of Nehru’s legendary fondness for children.

She said Bal Bhavan organizes various activities for kids on this occasion. Children of Indian Public School enjoyed a lot on the occasion. School director Raju Patil said Chaha Nehru was the builder of children’s future.

Raju Patil, Sarojbala Patil, Anupama, sanam, Sonam and other teachers and students were present. Prizes were given to children. At St. Joseph Co-Ed School Chief Guest Archbishop Leo Cornelio inaugurated the celebrations with the lighting of the lamp. Students presented scintillating dance performances on Bollywood tracks.

Addressing the students the principal said the children are the future of the country. Students from economically backward sections were presented school dresses and winter wears by the school. Various activities and celebrations were held at all other schools.
