Expelled JD(U) leader Sabir Ali, whose newly gained BJP membership was cancelled yesterday after party leader Mukhjtar Abbas Naqvi’s allegation of his links with Indian Mujahideen leader Yasin Bhatkal, today dared Mr Naqvi to prove his charges or else face defamation notice.
Addressing a press conference here along with his wife Yasmeen, Mr Ali demanded an apology from Mr Naqvi saying his allegations had greatly upset him and his family.
He said he would be sending a legal notice to the BJP leader, adding that either he should prove his charges or apologise.
‘’Mr Naqvi was misusing his political post and blaming others for his political weaknesses,’’ said Mr Ali.
His wife Yasmeen said the charges were absolutely false. My kids study in reputed schools and they are greatly disturbed.
‘’I want an apology letter from within 24 hours, or I will stage a protest outside his house’’ she said.
Mr Ali had joined the BJP after he was expelled from JD(U) following his praise of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
However, his membership was cancelled after pressure from some BJP leaders and the RSS.
