The District Rotary Governor NK Jain, of Rotary International 3040, has kick-started a massive campaign for providing nutritious food to under-nourished children in villages around over 100 Rotary Clubs in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign, started simultaneously throughout Madhya Pradesh, is unique being first of its in the Rotary history.
Giving this information, CK Sardana, Co-Chairman (Public Image), Rotary International 3040 said that during a global conference, Rotary International President, Gary CK Hung had declared that under Rotary Motto, India will have fully literacy by 2017. This will be through cooperation and support of all social service organisations in the country. The conference was attended by District Governors from all over the world including NK Jain from India. First Lady, Pratibha Jain also participated in various programs.
Committed to fulfill Rotary Slogan for 2014-2015, Jain disclosed that over 10 lakh books will be collected from Rotarians and donated to 1500 Libraries for children in the rural areas under District 3040 comprising Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. In addition, girl toilets in villlage schools, adoption of over 200 villages, training of Nurses and Maids for helping control deaths at birth, and provision of water purified machines to over 100 Anangadwaris are also included in his goals for the year. Besides, 306 children from rural areas are proposed to be adopted byy RI District 3040 for life-long care of all their needs.
