RJD to fight politically under leadership of Tejaswi

Agencies, Patna

Three days after RJD chief Lalu Prasad was convicted and sent to jail by special CBI court of Ranchi in yet another fodder scam, his son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav convened a meeting of senior party leaders to chalk out strategy to face the new challenge politically in people’s court.

The meeting was held here at the residence of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and it was attended by a number of senior leaders including former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Shivchandra Ram and Shivanand Tiwary.

It was the first time when Mr Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly, apparently tipped to carry out legacy of his father and RJD chief Mr Prasad, presided the crucial meeting, called to chalk out strategy in the given scenario.

Leaders who attended the meeting, expressed their full solidarity with Mr Yadav and shared his views on how to face the challenge of RJD chief Mr Prasad being put behind bars under well hatched ‘conspiracy’.

It was unanimously decided to call a meeting on January 6 to be attended by leaders from national level to block level, to give final shape to the strategy to make the people aware of the conspiracy hatched by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in connivance with BJP.

Mr Yadav, after the meeting, told media persons that Chief Minister Mr Kumar had hatched a conspiracy in connivance with BJP to put Mr Prasad behind bars and joined hands with it, dumping Grand Alliance comprising RJD, JD(U) and Congress which was given mandate by the people in 2015 Bihar assembly elections.

It was ironical to note that leader of RJD which got mandate in last assembly elections, was put behind bars while those who were rejected by the people, came into power after Mr Kumar joined hands with BJP, he said adding that it was ‘rape of mandate’.

RJD leader said that both Mr Kumar and BJP were in illusion if they thought that RJD would become weak after Mr Prasad was put behind bars. There was a great sense of anger among party workers and also people of the state for injustice meted out to Mr Prasad and it would reflect in days ahead, he said adding that they would give befitting reply to Mr Kumar at an appropriate time.

Mr Yadav said it was RJD president Mr Prasad who had ordered inquiry into fodder scam during his regime as Bihar Chief Minister. Mr Prasad had become Chief Minister in 1990 and fodder scam had its root developed in 1977, he said adding that former Chief Minister Dr Jagannath Mishra was acquitted in the case but his father was put behind bars in the same case.

RJD leader said that Mr Prasad had ordered lodging of several FIRs against powerful persons in fodder scam in mid nineties but despite such glaring facts, he was sent to jail under a well hatched conspiracy.

Mr Kumar was only misleading the people that he was sensitive to corruption and had zero tolerance against it, he said adding that he was mum on 16,000 times profit gained by a company of son of Amit Shah during the regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Not even a single moment, Mr Kumar raised the issue and demanded a thorough inquiry into the scam, he lamented.
