Patna, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today promised to conduct a caste-based census, lift a ban on toddy, extending reservation facility to Dalits, OBCs and EBCs as per their population, reservation in promotion in government jobs and constitutional protection to 200-point roster system for a faculty appointment in universities.
The Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad`s youngest son Tejaswi Yadav made these promises in the party manifesto for Lok Sabha election. He released the manifesto at the state party office in presence of state party president Ramcandra Purve and party spokesperson Manoj Jha
Describing his party`s election manifesto as the ‘commitment paper’ Mr Yadav said that if his party became a partner in the government formed after Lok Sabha election in the centre, the caste-basis census would be conducted at any cost in 2021. The country`s Dalits and majority community have seen RJD `s commitment towards social justice inside and outside Parliament or any other house.
“If integrated growth of the country`s Dalit majority community has to be ensured, new rules have to be framed for their participation and share in government jobs.,” he added.
He said that RJD would ensure reservation for Dalits, backward classes and extremely backward classes as their population.
“My party is fully committed to taking appropriate steps for protecting rights of the minority community,” he added.
