Raids unearth assets worth crores in Bhopal

Undeclared assets worth Rs 3 crore came to light today during Lokayukta Special Police Establishment searches at the premises of the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board’s ex-controller (examinations) Pankaj Trivedi who is suspected to have masterminded a scam in the MPPEB, Lokayukta Police said. A Lokayukta police team also reached the residence of the accused’s elder sibling and Rajiv Gandhi Technology University Vice-Chancellor Piyush Trivedi.

The raids commenced simultaneously this morning at the brothers’ official residences here and their premises in  Indore.

Details regarding about 5.5 ha near Sanwer, a plot, two dwellings, several bank accounts and a couple of lockers were found at Pankaj’s two premises in Indore. One locker yielded approximately ten tolas’ gold jewellery and some silver objects. Information came to light about his partnership in a private college. The team that reached his official residence here found it locked and the dwelling was sealed. Pankaj is incarcerated and ten cases have been registered against him thus far.
