Lakhimpur Kheri, Promising to address the issue of distress in the farm sector, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that the party will bring a separate budget for farmers if it comes to power.
“We will bring one a general budget and another budget for the farmers so that there is no harassment of the farmers”, Rahul said.
He said when a farmer could not pay Rs 20,000 of the banks, he is put in jail which is very depressing.”The farmers budget will end such atrocities and the farmers will live their life in a honourable way,” he said.
Addressing an election meeting in Lakhipur Kheri in support of party candidate Zafar Ali Naqvi and in Unnao in favour of party candidate Anu Tandon on Wednesday, Mr Gandhi said that PM Narendra Modi has ditched the poor people of the country by not fulfilling Rs 15 lakh promise.
“We have promised to give Rs 72,000 yearly to around 25 crore people of the country and it would be fulfilled at any cost,” he said.
Rahul also claimed that demonitisation has hit the country in a big way when employment opportunity has come down as their promise to provide 2 crore jobs every year proved to be a jumla only.
Raising the GST issue, the Congress president said, “If my party comes to power then trader will not have to go to any office for first three years.”
He claimed that the scenario of the country is fast changing as now the people of Gujarat too are raising the slogan that ‘Chowkidar chor hai’.Rahul Gandhi is expected to address his last election meeting of the day in Kanpur.
