Rahul meets Shinde to discuss steps to curb attacks on NE people

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi  today met Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and MPs from the Northeast to discuss steps to prevent atrocities against people  from the region.

Sources said during the meeting, Northeast MPs asked  Mr Gandhi to ensure justice in the killing of Nido Taniam,  a student from Arunachal Pradesh.
The MPs urged the Congress leader to frame a law to curb  racial attacks. Mr Gandhi’s meeting with the Northeast MPs came in wake of students from the region protested against Taniam’s death.
