Prize money of Building and Physique Sports Championship hiked to Rs 40 lakh

The prize money for the seventh Senior National Level Body Building and Physique Sports Championship, to be held here tomorrow, has been hiked to Rs 40 lakh.

Before this, the prize money was Rs 36 lakh. Addressing mediapersons, Chetan Pathare, the General Secretary of south Asian Bodybuilding said the Nationals will be held between March 2 and March 4. He also said that the team to participate in the Nationals will be selected from the State meet being held tomorrow, and a total of 23 participants would be selected from among the participants.

Nitrro Fitness, the largest Gym in South Mumbai, in Association with Maharashtra Body Building Association is organising the Thane event, he said. The Maharashtra Body Building Association is affiliated to Indian Body Builders Federation which is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

He further said the event will see conglomeration of more than 200 body builders and Physique Sports Athletes from across 27 districts of Maharashtra in women and men category.

In Body Building category, the competition for the coveted Champion of Champion World Gold Medalist Nitin Mhatre, three-time Maharashtra Shree and Mr India 2016, Champion of Champions Sunit Jadhav and two-times Mr World Jagdish Lad will be in the fray in Senior Men’s Body Building Championship.
