Priority to preservation of historic heritages: Sharma

Culture Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma has said that priority will be given in Madhya Pradesh to preservation of archaeologically important heritages.

For this, the State Government is making adequate funds available. Culture Minister Shri Sharma was dedicating Holkar Art Gallery at Rajwada in Indore today. Member of Parliament Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Indore Mayor Shri Krishna Murari Moghe and Commissioner Archaeology Shri Pankaj Rag were also present on the occasion.

Culture Minister Shri Sharma said that a number of historical heritages of the state occupy important place in the world map. He laid emphasis on private sector participation in this work. At the museum colour paintings of Holkar rules, weaponry, ancient coins and images of Holkar dynasty’s Isht Devta have been displayed.

At the outset, Shri D.P. Pandey of the Archaeology Department gave information about the art gallery. Except on weekly off on Monday, the gallery will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm on remaining days.
