Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that primary agriculture cooperative societies will be empowered further by linking them with core banking. He was addressing foundation-laying ceremony of Vikas Bhavan-cum-e-Governance Centre here today.
The Chief Minister launched Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission. Under it, database of 6.50 crore citizens has been compiled. Information about beneficiaries will be available on a single website. Due to it, they will not have to produce necessary information repeatedly. Madhya Pradesh is the first state to club all social security schemes.
Chouhan also launched core banking system for extending direct benefits to beneficiaries. With this, Apex Bank and 852 branches of district cooperative banks have been inter-connected with the cooperation of NABARD, Tata Consultancy and Central Bank of India. Other banks will also be connected soon. Describing launch of core banking as historic, the Chief Minister said that villages will start getting city-like facilities in next 5 years in the state. he said that State Government’s public welfare schemes have reached every village. For this, he congratulated field staff of Panchayats & Rural Development Department. He said that now people are themselves lauding work of the State Government. Officers with outstanding performance will be awarded every year.
Describing Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission as unique in the country, the Chief Minister said that now practical difficulties in getting benefits of social sector schemes will be removed.
Social Justice, Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargava said that Madhya Pradesh is pioneer in rural development and empowerment of panchayats. The revolutionary schemes of Madhya Pradesh under the guidance of Chief Minister Chouhan for changing rural scenario are being lauded as precedents throughout the country. He said that these schemes have created conducive atmosphere for industries in villages. Through core banking, Madhya Pradesh has taken a lead over many other states in establishment of financial inclusion. This initiative of Madhya Pradesh is also being lauded at the national level. Through the system, benefits will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Chief Secretary R. Parasuram said that implementation of Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission will remove practical difficulties in implementation of important social sector schemes. It will remove replication of administrative and procedural formalities.

The Chief Minister released tri-monthly magazine Maryada Abhiyan. He honoured banks officers who have played significant role in implementing core banking system.
