Varanasi, Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his statement that institutions are the biggest casualty of the dynastic politics, Congress leader and AICC general secretary in-charge for Uttar Pradesh east Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday said the PM should stop thinking that people are fools.
Talking to reporters here, Ms Vadra said, ‘BJP has systematically attacked every institution in the country for the last five years including the institution of which all of you (Media) are a part. You are aware of it better than I am aware of it. PM should stop thinking that people are fools and understand that they see through all this.’
Ms Vadra is here as part of the ‘Ganga yatra’, a boat ride on a 140-kilometre stretch of the Ganga river between the Prayagraj and Mirzapur districts, where she met the communities living by the river and sought support for the party for the Lok Sabha polls.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mr Modi lashed out at the dynastic politics and said that the ‘biggest casualty’ of the same are institutions.
‘From the press to Parliament. From soldiers to free speech. From the Constitution to the courts. Nothing is spared,” he tweeted, sharing the link of his blog.
In the blog piece published in website www.narendramodi.in, Mr Modi wrote: “Dynastic parties have never been comfortable with a free and vibrant press. No wonder, the very first Constitutional Amendment brought in by the Congress government sought to curtail free speech.”
