PM Modi visits grave of Bahadur Shah Zafar, offers floral tributes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited the grave of last Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar here. “The Poet Emperor in exile. PM @narendramodi visits the grave of Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal Emperor, in Yangon,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted with a photograph showing Mr Modi offering floral tributes to the last Mughal emperor.

In another tweet, Prime Minister Modi said, he “performed” Puja at Yangon’s Kalibari Temple. “Feeling extremely blessed,” Mr Modi said in his missive in the microblogging site. Prime Minister Modi and Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi also visited the Bogoyoke Aung San museum. Mr Modi departed for Delhi later.
