New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) Hitting back at Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ jibe, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a video campaign ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ in which he said that he is not alone in his fight against corruption and social evils.
In a post on social media, the PM said, ‘Your Chowkidar is standing firm & serving the nation. But, I am not alone. Everyone who is fighting corruption, dirt, social evils is a Chowkidar. Everyone working hard for the progress of India is a Chowkidar. Today, every Indian is saying-#MainBhiChowkidar.’
The over three minute video posted on his Twitter handle, has a Hindi song saying ‘Woh Mujhe kya
behkayenge (How can anyone mislead us as a nation).It also has a line – “Jhoot ke kapaal mein satya ka Prahar hoon (Our truth will always triumph against falsehood)”.
The video starts with PM Modi emphatically saying “Aap ashwast rahiyein, aap ka yeh chowkidar poori tarah se chaukanna hai (Rest assured, you chowkidar is ever alert)”.
The song shows youngsters and senior citizens saying that they are following Narendra Modi who is marching alone, fighting corruption in the country.
During his various public rallies , Congress president Rahul Gandhi, taking potshots at Mr Modi’s ‘Na Khaunga na. Keane doonga’ ( will neither allow corruption nor get corrupted ) slogan, has used the line ‘Chowkidar chor hae (The custodian is corrupt)’ to take forward his campaign against the Prime Minister on Rafale aircraft deal with France.
