Players should first be issued warning in case of indiscipline

 

Sports Minister Smt. Scindia deliberates with international hockey coach Oltmans

Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia held discussions with the Former Coach of Indian Hockey Team and the new High Performance Coach of State’s Hockey Academy Roelant Oltmans on the long term development of Hockey in Madhya Pradesh.

Deliberating on various issues, Smt. Scindia gave directives that the players should be issued warning in case of indiscipline first then should be counseled.

Even so, if improvement does not take place then expel them from the academy immediately. Moreover, Smt. Scindia directed that better medical treatment should be provided at the earliest in the sports clinic in case of injury to the player of any academy.

Coach Oltmans informed that we have to begin coaching with the children aged between 7 to 8 years for the long term development to achieve the set target. He further said that children could be taught the finer points of hockey in an interesting manner.

Oltmans mentioned that development of concentration, self-awareness and positivity is utmost important in the children. Director Sports and Youth Welfare Upendra Jain, Joint Director Vinod Pradhan and Balu Yadav were present on the occasion.
