Five-day Rang Triveni Theatre Festival kick-starts

The five-day Rang Triveni Theatre Festival kick-started at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium in the city on Wednesday. Renowned city playwright Alok Chatterjee was felicitated with Rang Triveni Kala Siddhi Award to mark the grand opening of the theatre fest.
On the first day of the theatre fest on Wednesday, Yogesh Tripathi’s written play Teesra Mantar was staged. Based on Kharputra Jatak Katha, the play was directed and conceptualised by director of MP School of Drama Sanjay Upadhyay and presented by Rang Triveni, Bhopal.
Sending out motivational message, the story of the play was adopted by Yogesh Tripathi. The play reminds us about sacrifice, knowledge, kind, truth and other qualities associated with Lord Buddha before he adopted Boddhisattva.
The Jataka tales are a voluminous body of literature native to India concerning previous births of Gautama Buddha in both human and animal forms. The future Buddha may appear as a king, an outcast, a god, an elephant. But in whatever form, he exhibits some virtues that the tale thereby inculcates.
On March 8 i.e. Thursday, Bhishma Sahni’s written drama ‘Hanush’ will be staged. It is directed by Manoj Mishra and will be staged by Mandap theatre troupe, Rewa.
The theatre festival is being organised by Saghan Society for Cultural and Welfare Bhopal. The theatre fest will be held at Shaheed Bhavan auditorium and will continue till Sunday. The fest is being held with the association of Government of India Ministry of Culture, New Delhi and Education Directorate Bhopal.
On March 9, Shweta Devi’s written play Dayaan will be staged by Mahi theatre troupe Bhopal in the direction of Nizam Patel. On March 10, play Buddhimati ki Bhains written by Mahendra Malgia, the play is directed by Abhishek Devnarayan and will be staged by Achyjjal New Delhi.
Marking the grand closure of the fest, Vijaydan Detha’s play ‘Swapnalok’ will be staged. The play is directed by Nitish Dubey and will be performed by Karmyogi Creative Theatre, Bhopal.
This festival will be full of comedy and artistry. Purv Rang will also be a part of the festival. On March 7, ‘Sapne’ directed by Bishna Chauhan will be performed. On March 8 Court marshal directed by Samarth Mahor will be performed.
On March 9, Ek aur Andha Yug directed by Anuj Shukla, on March 10 Virasath directed by Prabhakar Dubey will be staged.On March 11, Christmas Ka Ek Din, directed by Himanshi Joshi will be staged.
